Gavin Bayreuther smiling on the ice in a Dallas Stars jersey

Video analysis

Video should buildconfidence, nottake it away.

I watch every shift, clip the moments that matter, and give you 2–3 specific things to bring back onto the ice. For players at every level, from youth hockey to pro.

How it works

Four steps, start to finish

1

Send me 1–3 games

Cut shifts, full-game video or LiveBarn links. If you don’t have the shifts cut, I’ll handle the clipping.

2

I watch every shift

I pull out the most useful clips and find the 2–3 areas that will make the biggest difference right now.

3

We go through it

Either on a live video call together, or I send a finished breakdown with my voice-over on the clips.

4

Take it back to the ice

You leave with specific details to use in practices, games and future training.

What we can focus on

Built around your game

Offensive game

Puck decisions, scanning, support, creating space, puck protection, routes, timing, and ways to create more offense.

Defensive game

Positioning, gap control, reads, coverage, stick details, defending the rush, and play away from the puck.

Confidence

Reinforcing what you already do well, simplifying decisions, and understanding why a play worked or didn’t.

Why video

“I’ve been there plenty of times.”

Over 10 years of pro hockey, including time in the NHL, AHL and Switzerland, I had stretches where I was overthinking with the puck and worried about making a mistake.

Players feel what happened on a shift, but they don’t always see the full picture. Slowing the game down helps you understand your reads, recognize patterns, and make better decisions without overthinking. That’s what got me back to trusting my instincts, and it’s the same approach I take with every player I work with.

Questions

Before you send film

What footage works?
Cut shifts, full-game video, or game links like LiveBarn. If you can find the game online, I can usually work with it.
How long does a review take?
Within 5 days of getting the footage. If there’s a big tournament coming up, let me know and I’ll do my best to have it ready before then.
Live call or voice-over?
Whatever works best for you. A live call lets you ask questions as we go. A voice-over breakdown is something you can watch whenever and come back to.
What ages and levels do you work with?
Everyone from younger kids through junior, college and pro players. The review is built around where you are and what you’re working toward.
Do I have to sign up for a package?
No. Most players start with one review. We’ll go over the options and pricing on a quick call.
