The BHC method

Four pillars. One complete player.

Four foundations that define the professional game. Nothing is decorative. Every rep serves the player.

01

Skill

Skating, hands, shooting, passing. The technical foundation that holds up under pro-level pace.

02

Hockey IQ

Reading time, space and options before the puck arrives. Good players have to think.

03

Compete

Compete is a skill. It shows up in every puck battle, every shift, every rep.

04

Character

Coachable players and good people. The standard off the ice is the standard on it.

Founder

Gavin Bayreuther

Gavin played 10 years of professional hockey across the NHL, AHL and Europe after four years at St. Lawrence. He and his wife Erin are raising their three kids in Cape Elizabeth, and BHC exists to bring what he learned at the top of the game home to Maine.

“I’d rather give five to ten players a great experience than try to pack the ice.”

How much is a private hockey lesson?

Private on-ice training is $250 per 60-minute lesson. Ice rental is booked separately and added at cost based on rink availability. Private off-ice development is $200 per session, and a small-group off-ice session for 2–5 players is $250 total.

Is Little Lobsters a learn-to-skate program?

No. Little Lobsters is for children who are new to hockey but can already skate on their own and have been on the ice a few times. Full hockey equipment is required. It runs once a week on Sunday mornings, 8 sessions from December 13 through February 28, and it is coed and capped at 20 players.

Who is Gavin Bayreuther?

Gavin Bayreuther is a former NHL and AHL defenseman who played 10 years of professional hockey, including 122 NHL games with Dallas and Columbus, plus four years of NCAA Division I at St. Lawrence University and a season in the Swiss National League. How do I book a session?

Everything books online at bayreutherhc.com/book: private training, off-ice development, consultations, camps and clinics, and Little Lobsters registration.
